“Doing the Lord’s work, and it’s a blast. We’re very privileged to do it.” That’s how one Cru student described his Spring Break spent serving others in Asheville, NC.

College students have plenty of options for Spring Break, like going to the beach, heading home to rest, or catching up on schoolwork. But for a group of students with Cru, this break was about something more: serving others and growing in their faith.

Spring Break trips are essential to our Campus Ministry. They provide students with the chance to break away from their routines, engage in hands-on ministry, and return to campus ready to discuss Jesus in new ways.

One of this year’s trips was a partnership between Cru’s Campus Ministry and Unto, Cru’s humanitarian aid ministry. Over 150 volunteers from across the U.S. traveled to Asheville, NC, to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Students worked hard—clearing crawl spaces, preparing facilities for long-term volunteers, and cleaning up debris while Unto staff cut fallen trees.

They served people like Mitchell, a local man whose home flooded with four feet of water. The team built a wheelchair ramp for him. Though Mitchell was a believer, he had drifted from his faith. Now, he passionately shares about the God who saved him and sent people to help restore his home.

Alongside their physical service, students also deepened their spiritual lives. They participated in sessions on assurance of salvation, walking in the Spirit, spending time with God, and sharing their faith. Additionally, they conducted prayer walks on college campuses in the Asheville area.

Here is a short video that captures the heart of the trip and the students' passion for serving God: https://vimeo.com/1068989280/ac76fdfcf7

Thank you for your prayers and support of our ministry with Cru. Because of you, students are encountering God, growing in their faith, and reaching out to others with the gospel.

Yours in Christ,
