Robin and her team hear incredible stories of how God is working in people’s hearts around the world. S (name withheld) is joining full-time Cru staff in September. She has spent the last year interning as an accountant with Cru in the Middle East. She worked on ministry projects that went untouched because this area lacked the laborers to complete them. Here are two of the local Cru directors’ expressions of thanksgiving for the help they were receiving.

"You are the nets the fishermen in the New Testament throw to catch the fish Jesus commands in John 21. You allow us to have the capacity to catch all that we need to. Without your work we are unable to catch the harvest Jesus has provided," exclaimed the Operations Director for that area of the world. One of the other directors expressed it a little differently, "You're the engine in the car. Without your durability and endurance, we can't go very far. Even with the best car model and most skilled drivers, if we have a horrible engine, we simply won't work properly."

S was planning to intern one more year, but after hearing how her work in accounting is helping to bring people to Christ, she decided to become a full-time Cru missionary. In her application when asked why she believes God is leading her to serve full-time with Cru, she said, “While my work is a 9-5 job just like any other, the impact my job has is an impact like no other. I work on excel sheets, financial spreads, and monetary systems for the majority of my time, but the weekly opportunities I have to tell our leaders that ‘Yes, we have the resources to make the Holy Spirit's vision for your ministry a reality!’ is one of my favorite parts.”

S also said, “I see that this is an UNPRECEDENTED time in this region because it's the first time in a long time that we are seeing the gospel fall on good soil (Mark 4:8). I see thousands of people from all religions, classes, tribes, and tongues coming back to the Heart of the Father when only a few years ago we saw little to no fruit at all. God could truly do all of this on His own, but He delights in working alongside His children. He delights in providing in unfathomable ways. He tells us ‘See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland!’ (Isaiah 43:19).”

Please pray for S and the almost 70 others who will attend Cru’s New Staff Orientation next month in Orlando. Pray that they will be able to raise their team of financial supporters quickly and be able to report soon to their assignments around the world. Pray also for the areas of the world where it is difficult to share the gospel. God is at work!

Our granddaughter, Evelyn, turned two on August 3. It is a delight to be able to watch her grow and learn new things! My health is improving slowly but steadily, praise God. Thank you for partnering with us as we serve the Lord through Cru.

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
