Joe, who serves with Steve in Cru’s StoryRunners ministry, shared, “I met Olivier (photo) at a StoryRunners church planting training in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, last October.

Olivier helped build a Christian community by sharing the gospel in a local village using StoryRunners’ oral Bible stories in the village’s language.

It all started with a boy in the village accepting Jesus Christ after hearing an oral Bible story. Then, the boy’s father, an intimidating follower of the local religion, softened to the gospel after listening to the Bible stories.

The change in the father encouraged everyone in the village to listen to the stories without fearing what would happen to them. Now, there’s a thriving church learning more about God through StoryRunners’ oral Bible stories!

Cru’s StoryRunners helps fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) among unreached people groups in oral cultures by training people to produce oral Bible stories in the local language to share the gospel among those who do not have access to the Bible in a way that speaks to their hearts.

As people receive Jesus Christ, new churches are formed. As members of these churches learn StoryRunners’ oral Bible stories, they travel to other villages to share these stories with others who receive Jesus Christ and form new churches.

It is StoryRunners’ vision to see followers of Christ in communities of faith among every unreached people group in oral cultures. Please pray for Cru’s StoryRunners ministry and all those who use StoryRunners’ oral Bible stories to share the gospel in people groups that have yet to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Robin and I are very thankful to the Lord for calling us to Cru over thirty years ago and for your prayers and partnership.

“Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
