“I wish I had seen this booklet when I was searching for God a few years ago. This would have made things so much easier!” Sarah, an NYU student, said this to Brittany, one of our NYC Cru staff. Brittany recently met with Sarah and shared the Knowing God Personally booklet, which uses scripture to explain what it looks like to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

After Sarah and Brittany read through this booklet together, Sarah expressed a desire to go through this booklet with her friends who don’t know the Lord. She excitedly started naming friends who she wanted to share the gospel with. Sarah was really happy to find a tool to help her easily share the good news of God’s love and forgiveness with others. Please pray that Sarah is bold in sharing her faith and that her friends will have hearts softened by Jesus Christ.

Robin and I are busy preparing for about 175 students to come to our NYC Spring Break conference held over three weeks in March. These students are coming from all over the eastern US from as far away as Miami and Minneapolis.

Students will be trained in cross-cultural ministry, along with being trained to use Cru evangelism tools, like the Knowing God Personally booklet that Brittany used with Sarah in the story above. After a morning training time, the students will be sent out to the many NYC college campuses to initiate spiritual conversations with local students. We’re already looking forward to hearing the stories that the students will tell each afternoon when they return from campus!

Last year, many lives were changed. Several students on NYC campuses prayed to receive Christ as their savior for the first time. The lives of the spring break students were changed by seeing the huge difference in ministering on an urban, diverse campus that is so different from where they attend college. Many students expressed an interest in returning to NYC after graduation to do full-time ministry.

Please pray for our NYC Spring Break weeks, March 4-24. Pray that Robin and I will have the stamina to commute to Brooklyn, where the trainings will be held. It takes about an hour, walking and riding the subway, for us to get from our apartment in midtown Manhattan to Brooklyn. Pray that God will work in and through the students attending NYC Spring Break. Pray for God to already be working in the hearts of the students on our NYC campuses.

We give thanks to God for you and your prayers for us and our ministry. “We always thank God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you.” (Colossians 1:3)

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
