Happy New Year! We pray that the Lord has blessed the start of your year with His peace and grace.

The Cru ministry at the University of Tennessee is praying that God will raise 1,000 multiplying disciples over the next three years. The term “multiplying disciples” is used by Cru and other ministries to describe a group of strong Christians who share their faith and disciple new believers, who, in turn, become strong Christians who share their faith and disciple new believers, and so on.

Last summer, two UT spirit squad athletes attended Cru’s Athletes in Action The Ultimate Training Camp, where college athletes learn to integrate God, life, and sport. Gabriel (photo) is a Smokey (the UT mascot) at sports events, and Keegan (photo) is a cheerleader. Both came back from camp ready to reach out to teammates.

Gabriel, a senior, is mentoring some of the other guys and wants to reach out to the other Smokies, while Keegan intends to do the same with the cheer team. Together with another teammate, they started a combined spirit squad Bible study this fall. Gabe is also meeting with one of the younger Smokies, who is new to the team. Praise God that these two student-athletes are those sharing their faith and reaching out to their teams.

Like many other college students involved with Cru, the UT Cru group (photo) attended a recent Winter Conference. At a Cru Winter Conference, students share their faith with the local community, grow in their faith through Bible teaching and seminars, learn about mission opportunities, and have a good time while growing closer to other believers.

Please pray for all the students who attended a Cru Winter Conference at one of ten locations around the U.S.

Robin and I give thanks to the Lord for your partnership and prayers for our ministry. Together, we are helping reach people with the good news of God’s love and hope.
