Max texted, “If I decide to follow Jesus, are all my sins actually forgiven?” Cru at Eastern Washington University invited students to text them with questions about God. The students were offered cookies in hopes of having a conversation about the students’ questions. Max was one of 80 students who texted Cru a question about God for cookies.

Within an hour, Bobby, a Cru staff member, was at Max’s dorm room door with a bag full of homemade cookies. As Bobby shared the gospel with Max, Dylan, a guy who lived down the hall, knocked on the door and asked, “Mind if I sit in?” That night both Dylan and Max decided to follow Jesus! Two days later, they brought their friend Nat to Cru’s weekly meeting. A week later, Bobby, Max, and Dylan shared the gospel with Nat and he also trusted Christ! Max, Dylan, and Nat are in the photo.
Now, a year later, Max, Dylan, and Nat are reaching out to others and are continuing to grow spiritually as Bobby pours into them. Bobby says these men are impacting the Cru ministry on their campus as they mature in their relationship with God. Please pray for Max, Dylan, and Nat, along with Bobby and the other Cru missionaries at Eastern Washington University.
Also, pray for the college and high school students who will be showing up on campuses around the US in just a few weeks. The first few weeks of a student’s life can greatly impact the rest of their school year. This is a busy time for Cru staff members who work with students. Pray that our staff and students will have wisdom and creativity in evangelistic outreaches on their campuses. Pray that students will respond and want to know more about a personal relationship with God like Max, Dylan, and Nat did.
Our Mobilization office just released some exciting statistics for 2018. By the end of this year, more than 320 new full-time Cru missionaries will have been trained, commissioned, and sent out to reach people all around the world! That number doesn’t include the hundreds of part-time Cru missionaries or interns serving in the US, or short-term missionaries going overseas. Pray that God will work in and through them as they share the good news of God’s love and forgiveness around the world. Pray also for those who are currently considering joining Cru in 2019.
