Thank you for your prayers for us. The move from New York City went well, and our belongings are now in storage in Orlando, waiting for us to finish our summer assignment in Colorado. We’re enjoying helping lead our Cru staff conference, seminary classes, and trainings, and are enjoying being reunited with some of our close Cru friends.

So far, almost 1,000 Cru missionaries from all over the world are with us in Fort Collins, taking seminary classes or are being trained in cross-cultural ministry, leadership, or the basics of Cru ministry as new Cru missionaries. Another 100 of us are here serving on the conference team. Robin and I are helping oversee Information Services, the various registrations, and the seminary classes. Please pray that each of these missionaries, including us, will hear from the Lord in a special way this summer, and grow in our understanding and relationship with the Lord.

One special group that’s with us in Colorado this summer is 90 college students, who are here on a summer mission trip serving as Cru’s childcare workers for our missionary families. These students work during the day with our Cru staff kids, who range in age from infants through high school. Much of their time in the evening and on weekends is spent growing deeper in their own walk with God and sharing the gospel with others in the northern Colorado area.

Emily* is one of the students on the summer mission. She’s being discipled by our Cru staff friend, Ann* (*names changed). All of the students who come on the summer mission fill out an application, which includes their testimony of how they came to know Christ as their personal Savior. As Ann read over Emily’s testimony, she realized that her testimony was based on church attendance and being a good person, and perhaps Emily doesn’t have a true personal relationship with God through his son, Jesus Christ.

We are praying for Ann as she disciples Emily, and for Emily to see that there is more to the Christian life than just being a good person and attending church. The summer mission group is going through a group study on the Holy Spirit, and we are hoping that Emily will hear from the Holy Spirit and will experience the true joy that comes from having a personal, intimate relationship with God. Please pray for Emily, Ann, and the rest of the college students and disciplers on the summer mission.

Your prayers lift us up and encourage us. Our conference team is studying Philippians this summer and as we read these verses, it reminded us of you. “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” (Philippians 1:3-5)

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
