There are three annual Cru Campus events that can have a huge impact on a student’s walk with God: Fall retreat, Spring Retreat, and Summer Mission. Grand Valley State University in Michigan held their first ever spring retreat in mid-April. It was their final hurrah before students headed home for the summer. Masked and driving to the camp each day, students came hungry for community and time in God’s Word.

The weekend focused on putting action to your faith. Brody, one of the graduating seniors, found himself in a prayer group with two freshmen who he wasn’t sure knew the gospel. He took out a Knowing God Personally booklet and walked through the gospel with them. Both seemed to think they had a relationship with God, so Brody encouraged them to read the Satisfied booklet, which explains the Holy Spirit and a life fully surrendered to God.

It brings joy and confidence to us that Cru staff invest in someone like Brody and send them into the corporate world. His heart has been shaped by the message of salvation, the daily impact of the gospel, and his desire that other people to know Jesus Christ. Brody is just a glimpse of what Cru students and staff are doing on and off campuses around the world.

This school year, despite Covid and all its restrictions, students and Cru staff at Grand Valley State University engaged in 268 spiritual conversations since last fall. These conversations explore where others are in their faith journey and answer questions they might have about God, Jesus, salvation, etc. Eleven people came to know the Lord through their conversations!

The Knowing God Personally booklet is one of Cru’s resources you can use to share the gospel with someone. It’s based on Cru’s original Four Spiritual Laws booklet, which was written by Cru’s founder Bill Bright. You can view these booklets, including the Satisfied booklet, at knowgod.com or on the GodTools app on your phone.

We are so thankful for Cru’s mission of Win·Build·Send that mentor kingdom builders like Brody and sends them into the God’s harvest because, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.” Please “pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Matthew 9:37) We are also very thankful for your partnership in our ministry with Cru.

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
