"Cru changed my life and inspired me to evangelize and be bold in my faith," said Jon, a freshman involved in the Cru ministry at the University of Michigan. He shared these words at the semester's final leadership gathering.
In this special evening, current and emerging student leaders come together to celebrate what God has done and to pray for what He may do in the coming year.
Jon went on to share, “This semester I was taking English 125, and I learned the professor didn’t believe in God. This inspired me to minister to him, so I shared the gospel with him. He took notes, and I kept checking in with him about his faith over the semester.
“During the last week of classes, I knew I wouldn’t see him again as I wouldn’t be in his class, so I talked with him again about his faith. We talked for 30 minutes after class, and the professor prayed to receive Christ! I was crying, I gave him a hug, and he said he felt healed.”
During this time of celebration at Michigan, many students shared incredible stories of what God did this year:
One of the senior leaders, Wisdom, said, “Personally, I learned to give God my “yes” and He will make everything work out. Ephesians 3:20 is true, and I’m grateful for God and the great things that He will do!”
Another student leader, Hara, said her favorite part of the school year was, “Seeing Esme come to know Jesus! She felt loved by the community and felt something different about Cru. I was so encouraged by how powerful and sovereign God is, and he can soften the hardest of hearts. Don’t rule out anyone who seems ‘too far gone.’”
Robin and I are moved to see how God is working in these young college students who have chosen to follow Christ over all the other options available on college campuses. Just think of the impact they will have on God’s kingdom in the years to come! Thank you for your involvement in our ministry with Cru.
Yours in Christ,
Steve & Robin
