Isaiah 55 is a beautiful passage of scripture full of vivid word pictures. For instance, here are verses 10 and 11, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” This reminds us that the gospel of Jesus Christ needs to continue to be proclaimed in today’s uncertain, chaotic times to bring hope, peace, and forgiveness to a lost and confused world.

Usually thousands of college students spend their summers on hundreds of Cru Summer Missions sharing the gospel all over the world. This summer, Cru is hosting summer missions online. Here’s a description of the US online mission, “The mission that God has called us to has not changed. In fact, our hearts may feel a deeper urgency now to make Jesus known. On a traditional stateside mission, your team shares their faith, goes through the Bible together, trains together, and experiences deep community through vulnerability and shared experiences. On this online summer mission, we want to create similar experiences in new ways as you engage across the country digitally.” Please pray for the students involved in this online summer mission and for the people they will engage with online. Pray that many will hear the gospel and pray to receive Christ.

Another unique opportunity Cru is offering this summer for college students is called “Summer of Theology.” Cru works with some of the best seminaries to develop seminary training so that our Cru staff are theologically equipped to stay on mission for a lifetime. We are offering one of these theological classes to college students online. Pray for the students participating in Cru’s Summer of Theology as they grow deeper in their understanding of God and his path for their life.

Robin and I are celebrating 25 years as missionaries with Cru this month. We have seen God do amazing things through our ministry. We could not have pursued this calling without your partnership with us in reaching the world for Christ. Thank you so much.

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
