Chioma (name changed), a school administrator in West Africa, needed to find a way to correct behavioral issues among her students. She collaborated with Samuel, who uses Cru’s Jesus Film Project as a part of his ministry, and they decided to show the Jesus Film at the school.

A large group of 340 students, teachers, and community members gathered to watch the story of Jesus in their heart language. Many were deeply moved, even as they sat outside in the heat; sniffles could be heard throughout the crowd, and people were seen wiping their eyes and noses.

Once the film was complete, the crowd was invited to follow Christ, and 110 people responded! Afterward, nine teachers and 18 students took further steps and were trained to share the gospel and disciple new believers.

After the screening, Chioma reported significant and immediate changes among her students. Disciplinary issues dropped dramatically, and parents were delighted to see these transformations in their children. The area became a beacon of hope, and Samuel even established a church on the school grounds.

Please pray for those who translate and show the Jesus Film worldwide. Pray for their protection and those whose lives are touched by the film.

Robin and I are thankful for many things during this Thanksgiving season. A few of those things are family, friends, almost 30 years of ministry with Cru, and God’s love and forgiveness. We also thank God for blessing us with your prayers and partnership. Happy Thanksgiving!

“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”  Colossians 3:16–17

Yours in Christ,
