Campus Crusade for Christ has two annual days of prayer and our fall one was held on October 6. Steve Sellers, our new President said, “I continue to be drawn to Jesus' words in Matthew 22:37-38, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.’ The Worldwide Day of Prayer provides an opportunity for us to nurture our passion for Jesus.”

The theme was “Renew” based on Isaiah 43:18-21: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”

Renew means to restore freshness; make new or strong again; to make extensive changes; to return vigor; regenerate; revive. This is what God is promising his people: a new thing; making a way, streams in the wasteland and drink for His people. On our Worldwide Day of Prayer, we praised God for how he has worked through our ministry and we prayed for our ministry to continue follow God as he is “doing a new thing” in our world.

Here’s one example:

Praise: GodTools has been helping people share the gospel for 10 years! It has grown from 1 language to 90 languages, been downloaded over 1 million times and been opened 4 million times in 225 countries and territories. (GodTools is a free app that you can download onto your phone and it provides guidance and tools on how to share the gospel.)

Prayer Request: Each month, more than a million people from the U.S. use Cru's websites and apps to help them in evangelism and discipleship. Ask God to help each of these people experience Jesus Christ and his spiritual fruit in their lives. Pray for our missionaries worldwide as they serve the Body of Christ in reaching the world for Jesus Christ. You can learn more about GodTools and read how it has changed lives by visiting godtoolsapp.com/1-million.

Pray for Robby, Annie, and Rowan (13 months) as they move back to Orlando after living in New Zealand for four and a half years. Pray for safe travel, protection from Covid-19, and their adjustment to the cultural differences between New Zealand and the U.S. We thank God for your faithfulness to us and Cru as our world, who desperately needs Jesus Christ, is turned upside-down.

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
