“I want what they have.” These were the words of Nolan, a freshman football player at Bentley University in the Boston area. The Cru team in Boston spends the first few weeks of the semester getting to know new students and inviting them to Cru events.

Nolan, who was not a Christian, came to two of the fun Cru events and enjoyed them. At the third Cru event he attended at Bentley, the staff team gave a message on John 1 and Romans 8 focusing on identity as a child of God for those who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ. Romans 8:14 says, “For those who are led by the Spirit are children of God.”

God’s word impacted Nolan. After the meeting, he approached our friend, Andrew, on the Cru Boston team and said, “Tonight was different. These guys have a relationship with God that I don’t. I want what they have.” Andrew shared the good news of God’s love and forgiveness with Nolan and that “what they have” is a gift from God.

Nolan was ready to join the family of God, so Andrew called over Tajon and Dom, students on the football team with Nolan who are involved in Cru. Nolan shared, “I’m nervous, but I know what I want, so I just have to jump in.” Tajon and Dom prayed with Nolan as he placed his trust in the Lord!

Please pray for Nolan as he grows in his faith and learns what it means to be a follower of Christ. Pray for Andrew, his wife Marie, and the other Boston Cru staff as they share the gospel with and disciple college students at more than 20 schools in the Boston area.

We thank God that we were spared from any damage from Hurricane Ian. Many people in the Orlando area, including some of our Cru staff members, had a little to a lot of damage from the storm and the flooding afterward.

Please pray for them as they navigate the insurance system and their next steps. Cru’s Unto ministry (Unto.com) is coming alongside people in Florida as they recover from the storm.

Thank you for partnering with us so that students like Nolan can know the peace and joy that God offers.

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
