Unto, Cru’s humanitarian aid ministry, is a beacon of hope for people living in the toughest places on earth. Its work has a profound impact by “relieving suffering, restoring dignity, and revealing hope.” Unto partners with volunteers and other Cru ministries to accomplish its mission through food, agriculture, clean water, and critical aid/disaster relief programs.
People can get involved with Unto through church partnerships, humanitarian trips, and volunteer opportunities. One of those volunteer opportunities takes place twice a year at Unto’s global logistics center in Lancaster County, PA. People who attend these packing events prepare humanitarian supplies for shipment to people in need around the world.
Robin’s friend Bonnie, a missionary with Unto, attended the June packing event in PA along with 2,000 volunteers of all ages from all around the U.S. The volunteers participated in projects like packing clothing, meal kits, and medical supplies, refurbishing walkers, canes, and wheelchairs, and making salvation bead bracelets.
Fred (right) was a military contractor for 30 years and retired at 57. He told Bonnie that he retired to run meal-packing events for Unto around the U.S. Fred is excited to do as much as possible to bring food and Jesus Christ to those in need.
This mom and daughter (left) assembled salvation bracelets, a simple act conveying a powerful message. The mom's journey with Unto began in her childhood, and she vividly remembers the moment when she realized the impact of her actions. Now, she's passing on this spirit of service to her daughter, fostering a legacy of compassion and empathy.
During the volunteer break times, our Unto staff shared stories about those who are being helped by the volunteers' efforts. Many of them said this was their favorite part of the day. They are encouraged to hear about lives being changed as Unto partners with Cru ministries worldwide to provide physical help that helps open the door to sharing the Good News of the gospel.
If you’d like to learn more about a church partnership or ways you can volunteer with Unto, go to unto.com. Please join us in praying for our Unto staff and volunteers, who are currently providing critical aid to those affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Your prayers and partnership with our ministry help meet people's physical and spiritual needs worldwide. Thank you!
Yours in Christ,
Steve & Robin
