Every fall semester, Cru Campus Ministry trusts God to lead our staff to students whose hearts are open to His Word. This year, we are in awe of how He has connected our staff with the very people He has already been drawing to faith.

During the first week at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, the Cru team hosted social events and outreaches to connect with students interested in deepening their faith or exploring Christianity. At one event, Johnny, a Cru staff member, met two freshmen roommates.

One of the freshmen, Zander, responded eagerly when Johnny followed up and expressed a desire to join the Cru community. His roommate, Gideon, initially showed interest as well but soon backed out, citing a lack of spiritual interest.

The following week, Zander attended his first Bible study and quickly became a regular at Cru events. By the second Bible study, he brought four other freshmen. While two were already Christians, the other two—including his friend Joey—were exploring Christianity for the first time.

Shortly after, Rocco, a student leader, met with Zander to discuss faith. As they walked through a Cru resource on the Gospel, Zander realized that despite attending church in the past, he had never truly understood or embraced the Gospel. They talked for three hours about what it means to follow Jesus, and during that conversation, Zander placed his faith in Christ as his Savior and Lord.

Meanwhile, Joey continues to meet with Johnny every week to read through the Gospel of Mark together while Joey counts the cost of following Jesus. Seeing these meaningful conversations unfold has even inspired Gideon (who identifies as an atheist) to explore Christianity as well.

Thank you for partnering with Cru, which enables students like Zander, Joey, and Gideon to discover God’s love and forgiveness. Please pray with us that God continues to use Cru to reach students across campuses this fall semester. To God be the glory!
