“I said to myself that I would like to get involved with an organization that…changes the lives of so many people.” Robin is enjoying her role as an applicant liaison with Cru, helping potential missionaries fulfill God’s call in their life. Last week, she read an application from Justin (left in photo) who is a recent college grad. Through Justin’s application, God graciously gave her a glimpse of how one of our past roles with Cru helped call someone into full-time Christian service.

When Justin left for college in 2013, his dad urged him to get involved in a Bible study on campus. During welcome week, Justin found a Cru Men’s Bible study but had no intention of getting more involved than that. Later in the year, the Bible study leader urged the men to join him in attending Big Break, a Cru spring break conference in Panama City Beach.

Robin and I were leading Big Break in 2014, the first year that Justin attended. In his Cru staff application, Justin said of his week at Big Break, “At that trip, I got to see God's work moving through the actions of others. I saw people give their life to Christ, strangers being vulnerable with each other, and so many other actions. I said to myself that week that I would like to get involved with an organization that does that kind of work and changes the lives of so many people.”

Big Break changed Justin’s life so much, he mentioned it in another section of his staff application, “It was probably one of the best experiences in my life. I got to see God's work in action as we learned how to not only express our faith but share it with others. When I got back I knew I wanted to be more involved in Cru as a member, and that is when I began attending weekly meeting and events regularly.” Please pray that God will continue to use Cru to impact the lives of people for eternity. Pray also for Justin and the others who will be trained in January to become Cru missionaries.

During spring break in 2018, college students will not only have opportunities attend Big Break or the spring break outreach in New York City, but they will also have opportunities to help with rebuilding communities that were affected by hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Cru missionaries and students have also been involved in meal packing outreaches for those communities. Please pray for not only those affected by the hurricanes, but also for those who will be doing relief work.

Thank you for praying for us and our ministry with Cru. My (Steve’s) health is not yet improved, but the doctor told us that the Epstein Barr Virus would likely get worse before it gets better. Please continue to pray for me.

Yours in Christ,

Steve & Robin
