Conversations with people, not sermons or websites, are the primary way people begin to think about faith. In New Zealand, small groups of everyday people are gathering, both in person and online, to learn how to talk about Jesus with clarity and confidence.

These gatherings began when Cru’s New Zealand team noticed that people visiting their website (tandem.org.nz) wanted practical help sharing their faith in a supportive community. In response, they created GodTools Club, where small groups work through lessons from Cru’s GodTools app (godtoolsapp.com) to learn practical ways to start spiritual conversations.

The first group started small, with only seven regular attendees. One participant, Renata, shared what she learned with her pastor, Philip. Philip joined the group, and so did Jo, a pastor from Auckland. This year, both Philip and Jo started GodTools Club groups in their churches, each with over 50 participants.

People are joining from towns as small as Hawarden (population 240), where Kerry set up a table at the local Field Days to strike up spiritual conversations. In Matamata, Lindsay leads a group as part of her church's nursing home ministry. GodTools Club is reaching towns big and small across New Zealand.

Most importantly, we are witnessing real-life transformation. Susan's mother-in-law decided to follow Jesus after a conversation, and Selena walked alongside a grieving widow who also dedicated her life to Christ. The ultimate goal of these groups is to help believers actively share their faith.

For 75 years, God has been writing a story through Cru, a story of transformed lives, courageous faith, and a mission spanning generations and nations. As Cru celebrates 75 years, join us in honoring His faithfulness, reflecting on His work through countless people, and looking ahead with anticipation to the next chapter in reaching the world with the love of Jesus Christ.

Thank you so much for your prayers and for partnering with Robin and me. Your support equips and encourages believers to share the life-giving truth of the gospel.

One in Christ,
